When you buy a DOMAIN you may find these kind of errors. The error will be something like as displayed below.
You will encounter this error because the A record will be already entered. This is because when you purchase a domain two records will be added to A records before you add cname records. This error occurs because the records or your website address has been added to A name records.
For this you have to delete all the A records and save it. Now you try adding cname. Problem solved. This will definitely work, if not try after an hour.
